Traditional and scientific knowledge about fire management

This video was made during a workshop in Brasilia, Brazil in which Indigenous leaders, practitioners and policymakers came together to discuss how different forms of knowledge about fire could contribute to better management and policies. Organised by the Parupa Network, participants came from Brazil, Guyana, Venezuela and the UK.

The film was made by three Indigenous researchers; Isabel Pena (Venezuela), Jacir Filho José de Souza (Brazil) and Lakeram Haynes (Guyana), as part of the Indigenous Fire Management project funded by the British Academy, UK.
